The Mystery Beckons

A New Poem

The Mystery beckons.
We have been given
a beautiful world and
senses to experience it.
What can connect us
to the earth,
to each other,
to what and who we are,
to the Mystery itself,
are our observations,
our guesses,
our desires,
our love,
our imagination.
These can either
enlarge our reality or
close us in and
make our lives small.

I say -
Let's go big.
Let dreams and images
build a bridge
to the unseen.
Let there be fairies,
angels, spirit guides.
Let the birds be oracles, 
and the wind whisper
secret truths.
Let's stop thinking
sneering thoughts
and judgments.
Let's take all of it.
Let's be all of it.
What have we got
to lose?
