Ruby Slippers
A New Poem
Actually, the poem has been sitting on my desktop for quite a while. I think I haven’t posted it because it feels self-pitying, maybe even childish and petulant, which are never very attractive attributes. But honestly, some days do feel like that. Since I drew the SoulCollage® card that goes with the poem this morning, I thought that maybe that was a sign to let it go.
Mercury retrograde is coming to an end today, so let’s move on.
Where are my ruby slippers? I know they're around here somewhere. I find myself mired in a morose and bitter mood, and I can't remember where I stashed them. All I know is, my heart aches with this longing to be home. My night dreams find me lost, unable to even get through to anyone on the phone. I do keep going, but I never seem to arrive at my destination. Stuck in this predicament, I am at a loss about how to proceed, as hurt and confused as a lonely child. I am certain that there is relief out there somewhere, a mother or a lover just waiting for my return. Where are my ruby slippers?
